Comparison rate calculator
See the true cost of a loan once fees are included, so you can compare like with like.
Australian regulated comparison rates use prescribed assumptions and a defined calculation method. Do not treat a simplified total-cost or repayment comparison as an official comparison rate.
The tool below is a Loan Scenario Cost Comparison. A formal comparison-rate result is disabled on this site pending a validated, approved methodology.

Not available in this preview. A regulated comparison rate requires the prescribed loan amount, term, assumptions and formula under the National Credit Code, reviewed and approved before publication.
Results are estimates based on the figures you enter and the example rate shown. They aren't a quote, an offer of credit or a guide to what a lender will approve.

What a comparison rate is
In Australia, lenders must show a comparison rate next to an advertised interest rate. It rolls the interest rate and most upfront and ongoing fees into a single percentage, calculated on a standard loan amount and term set by regulation. It helps compare the headline cost of products, but it is based on a hypothetical loan that may not match yours.
What it leaves out
Government charges, fees that depend on events (such as redraw or early repayment), and the value of features like offset accounts. Two loans with the same comparison rate can cost you very different amounts depending on how you use them. The scenario tool above lets you enter your own balance, term and fees instead.
Calculations are estimates for general information only. They do not constitute a loan offer, credit approval or personalised financial advice. Actual repayments, fees, eligibility and savings depend on your lender, loan contract and circumstances. Speak with a qualified professional before making a decision.
